I’ve been a fan of Kevin Kern’s piano music for a long time because he consistently delivers fine compositions along with his simple but effective arrangements. The romantic piano style of Kevin Kern is always relaxing, never rushed and has a very warm feeling throughout. The light orchestral accompaniments make each song sound like a movie theme, although on one of the older pieces from this anthology, the synthesized violins sound a little too synthetic for my taste.
If you’re looking for a relaxing recording to mellow out to, look no further. More Than Words, by Kevin Kern keeps the mood quiet, simple and heartfelt throughout. His piano technique is nothing fancy, but the “feeling” is always there. And that’s really what counts. Fourteen songs in all, including two new compositions written especially for this collection make More Than Words an uplifting and tranquil addition to any CD collection. Highly recommended.
